Meditation for life

Meditation for Life

Life at times is stressful. We juggle family, work, social commitments and leave no time for ourselves. However, it is  important to create a balance in life. Just ten minutes of meditation a day will help you to relax and become less stressed. Life is 10% what you make it and 90% how you take it.

One of our main life lessons is to be able to live our lives and greet every challenge as an opportunity for growth. One of the esteemed Greek Philosophers, Epticus once said 'Its not what you do, but how you react to it that matters'. Our reaction to our life problems is often what we need to change if we want to lead more peaceful lives.

It is a proven fact that meditation has a big impact on our physical bodies. It induces relaxation, lowers blood pressure, boosts energy levels, increases our immune system. Mentally it builds our self-confidence, helps us to control our mood swings, empowers us with great will power and induces concentration and focus. Spiritually it can show us our purpose in life; mediation is the door that leads to self-realisation.

You may be reading this article thinking 'I could never meditate, I can’t sit still for any length of time without fidgeting'. If this is you, prepare to be amazed as you realise that the mediation habit is within everyones grasp, and the benefits far ourweigh any worries you may have in starting your practice. If you are thinking to yourself that you would never have the time to do this, just think 10 minutes... You could even do it on the bus or train in the mornings.

At Yogaananda we have a special course called Meditation for Life. In this course we first learn to meditate. Then we learn the techniques to think positively; realising that we are not our thoughts and indeed we can have control over them not the other way round. This is a weekend once a month, the next one is 11-12 of August.

Now is the time to learn these amazing life skills that have the power to transform your life. Health is wealth, peace of mind is happiness.
